Milam County Has Been Approved for Public Assistance
Due to the damage caused by the April and May severe thunderstorms, Milam County has been approved for Public Assistance. This assistance is for government, non-profits, and utility providers. A Texas Division of Emergency Management briefing with county officials, utility providers, and non-profits is going to be held this week to hear what the next steps for reimbursement are.
Currently Milam County has not been approved for Individual Assistance, which is for homeowners and businesses. If you received damage to barns and other agriculture buildings, loss of livestock, and/or crop damage not covered by insurance due to the hail, wind, and tornado between May 12th through May 29th, 2024, please call the USDA Cameron Service Center at: (254) 697-4949. Representatives from the USDA can work with you to repair and rebuild with low interest rate loans.
