TIGER FIELD IN THE SNOW
TIGER FIELD IN THE SNOW—We didn’t have room for this photo in last week’s paper but here is a rare sight, Tiger Field almost completely covered in “snow” which was actually sleet and freezing rain. Last Saturday many locations around Rockdale received a brief snow which was actual snow this time around. Temperatures are not expected to drop below freezing for the following week. We “spring forward” when the time changes on March 13 and the following week on March 20 spring begins.
BUSINESS OF THE MONTH
BUSINESS OF THE MONTH—Milam County Cowboy Church was awarded business of the month by the Rockdale Chamber of Commerce for February. The church was founded in 2007 and has been led by Pastor Greg Spears ever since. “The church has gained a reputation for being a friendly and welcoming church, focused on meeting folks right where they're at and sharing the unconditional love of Jesus Christ. We do that through the various ministry teams in the church, such as arena events, men and women's ministries and an awesome children’s and youth program,” according to administrator Kirk Glasby. On hand for the award were (L-R) chamber member Michelle Toungate, Glasby, church elder Rick Doelitsch and chamber member Pat Watson. Milam County Cowboy Church is located at 2100 N. US 77 and their phone number is 512-760-6282. Sunday service is at 10 a.m. and Wednesday night Bible study is held at 7 p.m. They also host Celebrate Recovery every Thursday at 7 p.m.
