CAMPSEY STEPS DOWN AS TIGER ATHLETIC DIRECTOR

Changes are happening at the top of the Rockdale ISD athletic program. Jacob Campsey has stepped aside from his current position as athletic director and head football coach at Rockdale ISD, and will not serve in that position next year. Rockdale ISD superintendent Dr. Denise Monzingo told KRXT news this Monday morning that Campsey did not submit his resignation, but he stepped down from his current position. Dr. Monzingo said in the next couple of weeks, the school district will post the job opening for athletic director and head football coach. Campsey was 14 and 16 overall as head coach for the Rockdale Tigers, and 0 and 2 in the playoffs. He came to Rockdale in 2014 as defensive coordinator and was part of the coaching staff that saw the Tigers reach the state quarterfinals for a second consecutive year in 2014, and win the state Championship in 2017.
