I’m being a Grinch
I’m not a fan of the holiday season. I’m a cross between Scrooge and the Grinch. I’m not bragging, I’m confessing. That movie Peewee’s Big Adventure will probably best describe this year as we do something new at Thanksgiving. Our youngest daughter, Klaire, is hosting. She and her husband Khen live in Houston and Khen is a professional ballet dancer, so we are going to watch a production of the Nutcracker the day after the “big feast.” It will be my first ballet, and it will be the first time we have ever done a holiday at the home of one of our children. Did I say this year things would be different and like an adventure because I meant to.
Chopping wood and carrying water
“That day he made the Gibeonite s woodcutters and water carriers for the assembly. And that is what they are to this day” (Joshua 9:27).
