COVID-19 claims 10th life in Milam County
"I am saddened to report another death of a Milam County resident due to COVID. This brings our death toll to 10. In addition, we have a record 34 new positive cases to report;16 PCR cases and 18 antigen (probable) cases. This brings us to another record 130 active cases in Milam County, which is 10 more than our prior record of 120, set just last week," County Judge Steve Young said in a news release.
Thursday there were 46 individuals in Cameron tested with 19 positive results. In the past 19 days of testing, there have been 701 individuals in Milam County tested with 187 positive results with a positivity rate of 27%. Further, three more individuals were admitted to local hospitals today and one person is still on a ventilator.

"Milam County is prepared to administer the vaccine to any Milam County resident, free of charge, as soon as we get it. The state will provide the vaccine to the county and we will administer the vaccine to any Milam County resident. In fact, we have already partnered with Texas A&M Health Science to help administer the vaccine. We want EVERYONE to get vaccinated to stop the destruction this virus is causing," Young said.

- Hospitalizations 15 – up 3 (one person on a ventilator)
