Disturbance on Coulter Street

At 7:26 AM the Rockdale Police Department received a disturbance call from a residence in the 600 block Coulter Street, Rockdale, Texas. The caller stated two adult brothers were physically fighting in the front yard, and that one of the individuals was attempting to retrieve a handgun from a vehicle. Rockdale Police Officers responded to the scene at which time multiple gun shots were fired from within the residence. Deputies with the Milam County Sheriff’s Department, and members of the Rockdale Volunteer Fire Department quickly arrived on scene and assisted with establishing a secure perimeter around the residence. Rockdale Police made phone contact with the suspect inside the residence, identified as Eddie Davenport (20) of Rockdale, who subsequently surrendered to police without further incident. Davenport is charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, a second-degree felony. No injuries were reported during this incident.
