TXDOT paving starts Monday from Burleson to Ackerman

On Monday, July 17, 2023, weather permitting, the Texas Department of Transportation’s (TxDOT) contractor will begin paving operations between the US 79 intersections with Burleson St and Ackerman St in Rockdale.  At times, traffic will be reduced to one lane, so travelers should anticipate delays and seek alternate routes if possible.  Paving operations are expected wrap up on July 19, 2023.

 This construction is part of the US 79 sidewalk and lighting improvement project awarded to Big Creek Construction for $4.5 million.  This project is a partnership between TxDOT and the City of Rockdale and is anticipated to be complete later this Summer.  TxDOT and their contractor appreciate everyone’s patience during construction.
