Coleman
George Coleman, 89, of Milano died Wednesday, May 9, 2018.
Graveside services were held Monday, May 14, at Sap Oak Cemetery near Stephenville.
Mr. Coleman was born Feb. 1, 1929, in Erath County to Alvin Ford and Clara Mae (Wiggins) Coleman.
He attended both Sap Oak and Morgan Mill schools.
Mr. Coleman served two stints in the U.S. Army as a private first class before being honorably discharged in 1952.
He married Geneva Joyce Garvin on June 24, 1952, in Weatherford.
Mr. Coleman worked for BJ Services as a district manager and well tech for 28 years, before retiring in 1985. He became a rancher after retiring and enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mr. Coleman was a member of the Woodmen of the World Fraternal Organization.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin Ford and Clara Mae Coleman; and a sister, Verbie Pauline Pennington.
Survivors are his wife, Joyce Coleman of Milano; three sons, Richard “Rick” Coleman and wife Ann of Tomball, Ronald “Ronney” Coleman and wife Alana, and Randall “Randy” Coleman, all of Milano; his grandchildren, Joseph Ford Coleman, Jeffery Allen Coleman, Stacy Michelle Coleman, Kelli Ann Coleman, Brandon Allen Yates and Kelsey Joe Coleman; his great-grandchildren, Lilly, Leah, Caiden, Lane, Cathryn and Matilyn; a sister, Geneva “Ninny” Burns and husband George of Center; and two nieces, Patrice Hicks and Paula Askew.
