Jesus told a couple of guys, who would later become famous and write part of the Bible, to drop their nets in order to follow Him. If they did follow Him He promised He would make them into fishers of men. Fishing was their business so they got the reference point.
We all know that a vaccination is on the way. In fact, the first of many will be available early next week. Medical providers will be the first to get the drug; then first responders; rest home workers and residents; and then the seniors and those who have underlying conditions. At this point we think it will be available to the general public by March 1, 2021.
I feel a little less bah-humbug-y about Christmas this year. I haven’t been able to get in the spirit of it since Kathy died. It was her favorite holiday and she did much of the planning and was responsible for most of the fun.
Last Thursday members of Milam County’s press were invited to a key ceremony at the old city hall where the keys to the building were transferred from the city of Rockdale to Collier Perry, managing director of the Vision Historic Preservation Foundation who will be raising money to preserve the building and take it back to its original 1895 glory.
