FIRST MILAM DEATH FROM COVID-19

Milam County is now on the list of Texas counties reporting a death from the COVID-19 pandemic.

County Judge Steve Young told The Reporter just after 10 a.m. Monday a woman "under 50" has died at a Temple hospital.

He said the woman had been taken to the hospital by ambulance last week and was diagnosed with COVID-19.

Young said no other information will be released by the county. 

One other Milam resident remains hospitalized due to the virus.

As of Monday morning, counting the person who died, there had been 12 confirmed cases. Young said seven have recovered and three are self-quarantining.
