FIVE NEW CASES; TOTAL GOES TO 56
Milam County Judge Steve young said early Thursday that Wednesday evening officials were notified of five new COVID-19 cases in Milam County, with one new hospitalization.
That's the largest total ever announced in one day. There are now 56 cases in the county with 17 of them active. That's also the highest count since the pandemic arrived.
This brings the totals as follows:
Confirmed cases – 56
Active -17
76- actively monitored
191-cumulative monitored
one hospitalized
one fatality
Young continued to urge wearing masks, social distancing and personal hygiene as the only ways to curb the recent surge.
He said one of the five new cases was attributed to a "gathering for visiting" at which one person was infected."
" I think we've had five cases from that one gathering," he said.
