Milam records 30th COVID-19 death
Milam County's death toll from COVID-19 now stands at 30.
"I regret to report our 30th COVID-19 related death in Milam County since the pandemic began. Another grim reminder of just how deadly this virus truly is," County Judge Steve Young reported Wednesday night.
There hospitalization rate fell to 12.36%. This is the lowest the rate has been since early December and the second day to be under 15%.
"If we stay at 15% or lower for 7 consecutive days, the business occupancy rate will go back to 75% and the bars can reopen," Young said.
The county is continuing with the COVID vaccination waiting list. Call 254 697 7000 or email Amy Guillen at aguillen@milamcounty.net to get on the list. Once on the list, you will get a call to schedule your appointment, when it is your turn.
