World Day of Prayer raises $400

Rev. Gary Veit, of Peace Lutheran Church, welcomed close to 60 worshipers from 12 different congregations to this year’s World Day of Prayer, held this past Friday morning. The women of Zimbabwe wrote this year’s 2020 service with the theme: Rise, Take Your Mat and Walk. Women from seven local congregations participated with speaking parts, as well as Rev. David Wilman of First Presbyterian Church, the co-host church for the day’s events, who read the scripture reading. A light lunch with recipes from Zimbabwe was extended to all who attended. An offering of close to $400 was collected which will be sent to the World Day of Prayer Committee.
