Speaking words of wisdom, ‘Let it be’
It is interesting to me that in the Gospel of Matthew, when Jesus, for the very first time, makes his will known, that he finds resistance. Jesus came to be baptized by John, but “John would have prevented him.” It is here that Jesus speaks for the first time in the New Testament: “Let it be so now....” The King James Version reads: “Suffer it to be so now.”
The places you’ll go!
There might be times we wonder if God is on an extra-long coffee break. That’s about what’s going on in Psalm 13. In this Psalm the writer asks, “How long, O Lord? Will You forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me? How long must I have … sorrow in my heart all the day? How long shall my enemy be exalted over me (verses 1 and 2)?” Does anyone relate to that?
