Agrand jury is a group of 12 people who live in Milam County. According to state law, the people on the grand jury must be able to read and write English, cannot have been convicted of theft or any felony, cannot currently be under indictment for a theft or any felony, and a few other simple requirements. Basically, we are looking for good, decent folks who represent what Milam County looks like. We want people from a variety of backgrounds who represent the entire county.

Jerry Cass has been a member of the Texas Senior Pro Rodeo Association since he was 45 years old and this year, at age 80, he brought home the championship in two events and placed in several others. Over the years he has won so many saddles and belt buckles that he doesn’t even know how many he has, proving the saying that “old cowboys never die.”

The Milam County Child Protective Board is seeking presents and donations for children in their care so they can receive presents on Christmas Day.
