A new organization, Family and Friends of St. Joseph Cemetery, held their initial fundraiser on Sunday at the East Bell Taphouse which included a pie and cake sale, a game of chance and a silent auction. Also included were generous donations for a total haul of over $6,000. “Membership is open to anyone who seeks to assist in helping maintain and enhance the appearance of this beloved cemetery,” said founding organizer Rey Mata. The organization would like to thank Justin Roman, Corey Lee Vorn Kahl and their staff, as well as Juan Rubio with the Office Steakhouse, opening soon in downtown Rockdale.

CALDWELL—The annual Milam and Burleson Counties Groundwater Summit will be held Aug. 17 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Caldwell Civic Center. The summit is free and open to the public with lunch provided.
