BUSY BEES

The Meadowbrook Busy Bees have certainly been busy. They have been making knit hats for so many people around our community—30 to the Senior Center, 40 to Headstart, 20 to the police on patrol, 20 to the junior high, 80 to Rockdale Estates & Rehabilitation and 10 sets to Place of Hope for moms and babies. Recently, they made over 100 hats to send to Ukraine. Abbie Ferguson is Meadowbrook Baptist missionary in Ukraine who started EWay, a Christian English School. She said, “EWay wants to thank the women of the Meadowbrook Baptist Church women’s bible study for the love, long hours and miles of yarn that were knitted together for the purpose of serving the men, women and children of Ukraine. These are not simply knitted hats, but symbols of God’s love and provision during this dark and cold time in Ukraine. It is our honor to deliver them.” On Jan. 18 the ladies got together, along with Pastor Steve Ammons, and prayed over the hats after they were packaged up for travel. “Meadowbrook Baptist wants everyone to know that your talents, no matter what they are, can be used and should be used to bring His message of hope. Please continue to pray for the people of Ukraine and an end to this war. Meadowbrook has so many friends over there that we pray for daily,” Ammons said. Busy Bee members are (L-R) Shellie Jones, Dorothy Zaskoda, Barbara Gonser, Abbie Ferguson, Judith Carver, Betty Margaret Ferguson, Wanda Waggoner and Linda Whorton.
