Milam County 4-H won big at the Citrus Show held on Dec. 17 in Mercedes in the Rio Grande Valley. Kaylor Eschberger won first place individual in the intermediate category. His brother Klay Eschberger took home third place. Kaylor is shown here being awarded his prize.
Several shops in town—Hodge Podge Etc., Christian Infor-mation Book Store, Rustic Charm, Shear Gypsy, Charming Blossoms and Treat Yourself Boutique—held a unique “Hens and Rooster” event before Christmas. The “hens” shopped and made their wish lists at each store Dec. 15-17 using each participating store’s merchandise. After the shopping the “roosters” were entered into a drawing for a Yeti-type cooler filled with all kinds of “rooster” goodies including their favorite beverage. On Dec, 22, the roosters picked up their wrapped gifts for their hens, returned to their “coops” and placed their gifts under their Christmas trees. Rockdale Police Officers made three felony arrests during the past week including: • Christopher Andrew Lopez, 27, Rockdale, was arrested on Wednesday by Ofc. Lentz on a warrant for possession of controlled substance (less than 1 gram).
