Rockdale’s first leadership class got kicked off on Thursday at the MDD building downtown with a catered dinner by Coronas Mexican Restaurant and Cliff’s Tavern. The class is sponsored by the Rockdale MDD and the Rockdale Chamber of Commerce and will involve speakers and projects and meets once per month on Thursdays. This year’s par ticipants are Brittany Mantey, Shanna Johnson, Michelle Toungate, Braden Wallis, Victoria Otto, Rita Quinn, Scott Starnes, John Marshall, Charles Keagy, Mary Lou Loehr, Joyce Dalley, Julia Cardona, Roxanne Proudley, Shannon Kornegay, Weston Pokorny and Kyle Cooke. Best-selling author Alford to hold reading at library

Best-selling author Mary Alford will be at the Lucy Hill Patterson Memorial Library Thursday, June 9, from 2 to 4 p.m. She will be reading from her newest book, released this June, Among the Innocent.
