TxDOT, CITY OF ROCKDALE WORKING IN TANDEM—After a seemingly long lull in activity Rockdale’s downtown area saw a huge uptick in workers doing their jobs. On the left, a city worker does some welding work on a large pipe for the city’s water project at the intersection of Cameron Avenue and Burleson Street next to The 1895 (old city hall). On the right, Third Coast Services LLC was hired to do TxDOT’s downtown project to install new traffic lights at the corners of Cameron Avenue where they intersect with Ackerman, Main and Wilcox streets. The new traffic lights are larger and have a more sleek design in black than the yellow ones they replaced. Reporter/Kyle Cooke
