Dear editor, My husband and I had Harris-Walz banners and signs hanging around our front gate for several weeks prior to the election. During that time, I occasionally saw social media posts about political signs being stolen from yards in other places. Every time, I felt proud that in Milam County, we do not stoop so low. Our Harris-Walz banners and signs peacefully coexisted with the Trump flags in our neighbor’s pastures. In Milam County, I said to myself, we respect our neighbors’ rights to publicly speak their mind, and we respect our neighbors’ private property.
