Marvin James Goldsby, 53, of Milano, passed away Wednesday, July 4, 2018, at Memorial Hermann Houston with his loving family by his side.

Rosary was held Friday, July 6, at 5 p.m. at McCauley Funeral Home in Franklin.

Funeral services were held Saturday, July 7, at 11 a.m. at McCauley Funeral Home Franklin. Graveside services followed at the James Cemetery in New Baden.

James, as he was known to family and friends, was born June 1, 1965, in Fresno, California.

James served in the United States Navy as an aviation electrician, petty officer on the USS Nimitz after graduating from high school.

After serving in the Navy, he went on to pursue an associates degree in applied science from McClennan County Community College as a radiologic technician and sonographer.

James was proud of his service to our country and proud to be in the healthcare field helping others.

Survivors include his beloved mother, Margaret Ann Howard of Milano; uncles: Curtis Wylie of Gause and Robert Wayne Wylie of Houston; beloved brother Martin Eugene “Gene” Goldsby of Bryan; nieces: Jenna Marie Goldsby Morgan of Austin, Victoria Paige Goldsby of North Zulch (currently serving in the Army in Germany), Rebecca Ann Goldsby of North Zulch; best friend/sister Carla Smith of Hearne; and special little sister Jo Ann Reistino of Milano; as well as, beloved other relatives and special friends.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Mark Wayne Goldsby; grandparents Richard and Alice Lund; stepfather J.D. Howard; Uncle Darrell Keith Wylie and Aunt Cheryl Wylie-Tice.
