Frank Norman David, 76, died Tuesday, July 17, 2018, at his home with his wife and family by his side.
Mass was held Friday, July 20, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rockdale, with Father Pedro Castillo, Deacon Gus Coelho and Deacon Don Sims officiating. Burial was in the Taylor City Cemetery in Taylor.
Rosary was recited Thursday, July 19, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale.
Mr. David, one of 12 children, was born Jan. 24, 1942, in Granger to Emil and Freda (Krnavek) David.
He attended St. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Grade School and graduated from Granger High School.
On Nov. 30, 1963, he married Patricia Kaase at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Taylor.
They moved to Rockdale where Mr. David worked 41 years at Alcoa, Rockdale Operations as an electrician. He retired in 2003.
He was also co-owner of Little Tikes Learning Center in Rockdale from 1986 to 2006.
Mr. David was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and an active member of the Rock-dale Knights of Columbus No. 7014.
He played on a men’s fast-pitch softball team from Granger and played on the K.C. men’s slow-pitch softball team.
His love of baseball continued into coaching Little League baseball for a number of years. He was also a member of the Rockdale Country Club.
Mr. David was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Gertrude, Martha and Evelyn; and six brothers, Ted, Clifton, Emil Jr., Richard, Albert and an infant brother.
Survivors are his wife, Patsy David; a son, Dwayne David and wife Kelly of Rockdale; two daughters, Diana Remmert and husband Travis of Thorndale, Brenda Gilbert and husband David of Caldwell; two sisters, Margie Vanecek and Alice Heselmeyer and husband Albert, all of Taylor; eight grandchildren, Chris David, Patrick David, Jaime David, Tyler Remmert, Heather Remmert, Megan Gilbert Prig-more and husband Denver, Ashley Gilbert and Courtney Gilbert; and two great-grandchildren, Avreigh and Hunter David; also, numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Patrick David, Tyler Remmert, Denver Prigmore, Joe Allen Blackmon, Wilbert Marburger and Roy Perrard.
