Flores

Helen Flores, 60, of Georgetown, formerly of Rockdale, died Saturday, July 21, 2018, in Georgetown.

Funeral Mass was held Friday, July 27, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rockdale with Father Pedro Castillo officiating. Rosary was recited Thursday, July 26, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale.

Ms. Flores was born Jan. 28, 1958, in Rockdale to Macario and Rafaela (Mendoza) Flores.

She graduated from Rock-dale High School and attended St. Edward’s University in Austin.

Ms. Flores had lived in Rock-dale for many years but had lived in Georgetown for the past six years.

She was an administration assistant for WIC (Women, Infant & Children) for the City of Austin and worked for the City of Austin nearly 25 years.

Ms. Flores was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rockdale and attended St. Helen Catholic Church in Georgetown.

She enjoyed gardening, cooking and being with her family, especially her nieces and nephews.

Ms. Flores was preceded in death by her parents, Macario and Rafaela Flores; two sisters, Virginia Vaca and Delia Galvan; a brother, Randy Flores; and a niece, Regina Susan Vaca Del-Bosque.

Survivors are three brothers; Rudolph Flores and wife Adela of Coppell, Macario Flores and wife Rosie, and Robert Flores and wife Josie, all of Rockdale; two sisters, Mary Ann Masiel and husband Henry of Fairfield, Irene Avila and husband Robert of Rockdale; and a sister-in-law, Kim Flores of Rockdale.

Pallbearers were Dr. David Vaca Jr., Michael Flores, Kelly Flores, Mitchell Galvan, Michael Alvarado and Frankie Flores. Honorary pallbearers were Nicolas Flores, Priscilla Avila Barcak, Dayne Jones and Dylan Jones.
