Reyes-Banda
Cirilo “Tio Chiro” Reyes-Banda, 78, of Rock-dale died Sunday, Sept. 9, 2018, at his home.
Visitation is set for 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 13, with the Rosary at 7 p.m. at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale. Burial will be at Panteon Municipal Cemetery in Villa Juarez, Mexico, at a later date.
Mr. Reyes-Banda was born March 18, 1940 in Buena Vista Villa Juarez, S.L.P., Mexico to Francisco and Juana (Banda) Reyes.
He worked as a horse trainer for Tommy Morgan until his retirement.
Mr. Reyes-Banda was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rockdale.
On May 21, 1961, he married Maximina Reyes Baez in Villa Juarez, S.L.P., Mexico.
Mr. Reyes-Banda was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, three brothers and two sisters.
Survivors are his wife, Maximina Reyes of Rock-dale; three sons, Margarito Reyes and wife Maria of Thorndale, Luis Reyes and wife Melissa of Cleburne, Mauro Reyes and wife Maria Noelia of Buenavista, S.L.P., Mexico; and six daughters, Maria Sanchez and husband Jose, Maria DeJesus Reyes and husband Refugio, Silvia Gonzales and husband Cesar, and Rosa Reyes, all of Rockdale, Mariana Llanas and husband Joaquin of Dime Box, Anabel Portillo and husband Mario of Houston; also, a brother and three sisters, 32 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
