Petty-Burrell

MANSFIELD—Rev. Dr. Laura E. Petty-Burrell, 84, died Thursday, Oct. 18, 2018, in Mansfi eld.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, at New Galilee Missionary Baptist, 1435 W. Broad St., in Mansfield. Interment will be at Rest-Ever Memorial Park in Bryan.

Visitation is set for 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26, at The Major Funeral Home & Chapel, 9325 South Freeway, in Fort Worth.

Rev. Dr. Petty-Burrell was preceded in death by her parents, Aaron and Ethel (Manning) Smith; a brother, Henry Smith; and spouses, James Petty Sr. and Rev. John Burrell.

Survivors are her children, Edward (Wanda), James Jr. (Gail), William and Madelyn; sisters Marjorie Greenwood, Bettye Price and Grace Winston; brothers John Smith and Aaron Smith (Donna); and five grandchildren, Bradley Petty, Donnall (Erica) Wells, Allen Petty, Rebecca Petty, Cedric Bowman Jr. and Imani Johnson; also, two great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
