Eiland

Hallie S. Eiland, 87, of Rock-dale died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2018, at Legacy Nursing Home in Cameron.

Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 3, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rock-dale with burial at Bushdale Cemetery near Rockdale. Minister Gene Van Noord of Cameron Church of Christ officiated.

Mrs. Eiland was born Nov. 20, 1931, in the Honey Creek community of Lavaca County to Otto C. and Emma A. (Backhause) Sicko.

On Oct. 12, 1953, she married Melvin B. Eiland in Cuero.

Mrs. Eiland was a homemaker and enjoyed hummingbirds, canning and working in her garden.

She was a member of First Baptist Church in Rockdale.

Mrs. Eiland was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Eiland on Sept. 24, 2012; two infant children, Beverly Jean Eiland and Gary Wayne Eiland; three stillborn children including twins; three brothers, Harry, Lester and Fritz Sicko; and five sisters, Hulda Sicko, Anita Patterson, Pearlie Naumana, Lorene Shumacker and Hilda Massey.

Surviving are a son, Melvin C. Eiland of Rockdale; two daughters, Patricia Marrs of Las Vegas, Nevada, Angela Eiland Tynes of College Station; a sister, Kathryn Sikes of Corpus Christi; seven grandchildren, Tina Lavender, Aaron Tynes, Isaiah Tynes, Noel Keen, Michael Davenport, Johnny B. Davenport and Paul Davenport; and 12 great-grandchildren, Brandon Taylor, Thomas Gray Warren Tynes, Lucca Keen, Gage and Presley Davenport, Justin and Kennedy Davenport, Tyler, Jacob, Brice, Shane and Kaitlin Davenport.

Pallbearers were Mike Davenport, Elroy Sicko, Harry Sicko, Aaron Tynes, Isiah Tynes and Brandon Taylor.
