Funeral services for Eleanor Luckey, 91, of Sharp were held Sunday, Dec. 23, 2018, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rock-dale with Rev. John Seaton of St. John’s United Methodist Church in Rockdale officiating. Cremation followed.

Mrs. Luckey died Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2018, at Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Temple.

She was born Oct. 13, 1927, in Cameron to Lee Roy and Ellen Jane (Hobbs) Clore.

Mrs. Luckey was a graduate of Yoe High School in Cameron.

On Aug. 7, 1946, she married James E. Luckey in Temple.

Mrs. Luckey worked for Industrial Generating Co. for 35 years in human resource and as a statistician. She had also worked for the Veteran’s Administration.

She was a member of St. John’s United Methodist Church in Rockdale.

Mrs. Luckey lived in Sharp the past 20 years, having moved there from Rockdale.

She enjoyed growing roses and African violets and making dewberry cobbler.

Mrs. Luckey was a pianist, playing at First Christian Church in Cameron and other area churches, schools and social gatherings.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee Roy and Ellen Jane Clore; and three brothers, James D. Clore, John Clore and Lee Roy Clore Jr.

Survivors are her husband, James E. “Gene” Luckey of Sharp; three daughters, Ellen Luckey and husband Michael Jordan, Patti Schneider and husband Myron, all of Rock-dale, Carol O’Connor of Sharp; and eight grandchildren, Ashley Jordan of Utrecht, Netherlands, Adrienne Jordan, Cne’ Schneider and Duke Schneider, all of Austin, Ty Schneider of Kyle, Trish Ammon of Jacksonville, Florida, Charlotte Cariotis of Meridian, and Dustin O’Connor of Searcy, Arkansas; also, six great-grandchildren.
