Green
Clois Llewellyn Green, 99 of Temple, and formerly a Rockdale resident, died January 24, 2019.
Visitation is set for 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, 2019, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home, Rockdale. A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m.
Mr. Green was born Sept. 22, 1919, in Memphis, Texas (yes, we mean Texas), to Philip Joseph (“PJ”) and Laura Lillian Green, the sixth of their 11 children.
He graduated from Lewisville High School in 1937.
Mr. Green served in the Navy from 1944-1946 as an electronics instructor. He then went on to earn a degree in industrial engineering from The University of Texas (Austin) in 1949.
During this time, he met Nettie Lou von Rosenberg who would become his beloved wife of 69 years. They married in 1949.
Mr. Green was a long-time Alcoa employee, a problem-solver extraordinaire, a Bible teacher and student, and beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, great-great grandfather, and friend.
Survivors are his wife, Nettie; brothers Henry Green of Austin and Jerry K. Green of Nashville; and five children, Barbara Adams, Karen Callihan, Daryl Green (and Rhonda), Laurie McGovern (and David), Art Green (and Susan); also, 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. Their legacy of loving, providing, giving, helping, and inspiring the best in others will carry on.
