Services for Paul Henry Heintze, 84, were held Friday, March 1, 2019, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home with Gary Jackson, Allen Sanders and Jason Hollinger officiating. Burial was at I.O.O.F. Cemetery.

Mr. Heintze died Monday, Feb. 25, at Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Temple.

He was born Sept. 4, 1934, in Sharp to Albert and Mary Heintze. He was a lifelong resident of Milam County.

Mr. Heintze was a 1952 graduate of Sharp High School.

On March 3, 1956, he married Gloria Stephens at Murray Street Church of Christ.

He worked 35 years for TXU and five years for Alcoa before retiring in 1995.

Mr. Heintze was the past president of the Rockdale Little League Baseball program, serving as a coach for over 10 years, and was instrumental in acquiring the property and moving little league to its present location.

He was an avid Rockdale Tiger supporter, serving as the Athletic Booster vice president and president during Coach Fred Johnson’s era.

After retirement, Mr. Heintze continued to farm and ranch.

He enjoyed nurturing his garden, cooking chili, barbecuing, playing dominoes, fishing and going to school sporting events.

Mr. Heintze was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Gloria; also, his parents, seven sisters, and a brother.

Survivors are a brother Albert Heintze and wife Bernice; a sister-in-law, Anna Lou Towery and husband Tregg; his children, Paul Bryant and wife Ruby of Orlando, Florida, Shelly Elaine Sanders and husband Allen of Rockdale, Jimmy Scott and wife Robin of Rockdale; and his grandchildren, Matthew Sanders and wife Molly, Nicholas Heintze, Justin Gonzales, Joseph Sanders and wife Lacy, Joanna Heintze, Ben Heintze, Paul Henry and wife Mackenzie; also, four great-grandchildren, Madison Gonzales, Luke Sanders, Hadley Heintze and Caroline Sanders.
