David Ruiz Osoria

David Ruiz Osoria, 61, of Rockdale died Saturday, March 30, in a Temple hospital.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 6, at St. Monica’s Catholic Church in Cameron with Rev. Dimitrij Colankin officiating. Burial will follow at St. Monica’s Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation is set for 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron with a rosary being recited at 7 p.m.

Mr. Osoria was born in Mexico on Sept. 25, 1957, to Francisco Ruis and Ladislada Osoria Sibrian.

He married Ernestina Torres and had worked as a laborer.

Survivors are his wife, Ernestina Ruiz of Rockdale; a son, Jose David Ruiz Torres of Milano; three daughters, Cindy Martinez of Cameron, Diana Ruiz of Navasota, Lilia Ruiz of Sachse; three brothers, Estevan Ruiz and Ruben Ruiz, both of Mexico, Daniel Ruis of Arizona; and two sisters, Esther Ruiz of Arizona, Rosie Ruiz of Mexico; also, eight grandchildren.
