FAIRFIELD—Jimmie Lee Love, 83, of Fairfield passed away Monday, April 1, 2019, at Freestone Medical Center.
Funeral services were held Saturday, April 6, at Capps Memorial Chapel in Fairfield and burial was at Fairfield Cemetery.
He was born Jan. 8, 1936, in Round Rock, to parents Clyde and Carrie Bingham Love.
He grew up on a dairy farm in Milam County and raised a grand champion Guernsey heifer for FFA. Those efforts helped develop his integrity and work ethic throughout his life. He graduated from Sharp School and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
On Dec. 26, 1961, Jimmie married Barbara Jean Caldwell in Rockdale and she preceded him in death on July 22, 2008.
Jimmie moved from Rockdale to Fairfield in 1971.
He was a maintenance superintendent at Big Brown Mine and retired after 32 years of service. Along with his career, he raised cattle on his two farms in the area.
On Feb. 5, 2010, Jimmie married Joyce Thompson. They made their home in Fairfi eld.
In addition to Jimmie’s parents, and his first wife, Barbara, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Bobbye Love Runnels Jones in 2014 and Florene Love Acord in 2017; an infant brother in 1951; three brothers-in-law, Joe Runnels in 1983, Larry Bales in 2013 and Martin Stevenson in 2008; and a nephew, Mitchell Bales.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Joyce of Fairfield; a daughter, Jennifer Love Class and husband Elliott of Plano; two grandchildren, Sara and Daniel Class; three brothers, Dennis Love of Belton, Leon Love and wife Coty of Sharp, Lynn Love and wife Mary of Buckholts; two brothers-in-law, Floyd Jones of Seattle, Washington, J.D. Acord of Rockdale; and five sisters, Nancy Love Bales of Devine, Dottie Love Stevenson of Lakeway, Elaine Love Merritt and husband Bob of Sharp, Susie Love Dixon and husband Bill of Bryan, Judi Love Kruse and husband Paul of Rockdale; also, many nieces and nephews.
