RISD in need of committee members

Rockdale ISD is looking for several members to serve on two very important committees. If you can help, please see the contact information below.

School Health Advisory Committee (SHAC)

This group is charged by the Texas Education Agency to provide support for an age-appropriate health education program, as well as early intervention and prevention strategies that can easily be supported by local families and community stakeholders. Meetings will be at 5:00 PM, four times a year. Remote participation or in-person meetings will be provided. Contact Pam Kaufmann at pkaufmann@rockdaleisd.net or call 512-430-6000, ext 1014 to become a member of the SHAC organization.

Campus Education Councils (CEC)

Campus Educational Councils serve as advisory groups to the principals and Superintendent. This is a great opportunity for our parents and community members to provide input to our district. The councils play a vital role in our school improvement process.

Campuses have the following openings on our Campus Education Councils:

     Elementary - (1) parent, (1) business representative

     Intermediate - (2) community representatives, (1) business representative

     Junior High - (0) all positions filled 

     High School - (2) parents, (1) community representative
