Wettstein
Sandra Gail Wettstein, 70, of Rockdale died Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2022, at her home in Rockdale.
A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Rockdale.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12-noon Saturday at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale.
Mrs. Wettstein was born on Dec. 18, 1951, to Charles Henry and Vera Edwina (White) Frasure in Gatesville.
She graduated from Midland Lee High School in 1970.
On Jan. 16, 1979, she had her first dance with Neil Wettstein at Butch Cassidy’s in Houston. The two fell in love and were married on March 27, 1981, in Houston. They moved to Rockdale not long after.
Mrs. Wettstein worked at Prosperity Bank for 20 years, retiring on Aug. 19, 2022.
She was a two-stepping queen who always enjoyed dancing to a good polka or waltz. She also enjoyed traveling, going on cruises and loved Blue Bell ice cream.
Mrs. Wettstein was preceded in death by her father, Charles Frasure, and a grandson, Riley Alexander.
Survivors are her husband, Neil Wettstein of Rockdale; a son, Derek Wettstein of Rockdale; a daughter, Kim Wettstein and John Zamora of Rockdale; a brother, Ken Frasure of Austin; her mother, Edwina Frasure of Rockdale; her grandchildren, Makayla Zamora, Anjelica Zamora and Tony Thomas Jr.; her great-grandchildren, Adeline, Everly and Kaidon; and nephews, Andrew Paul Bayley, and Chad David Bayley.
Pallbearers will be Preston Muston, Tra Muston, Derek Wettstein, John Zamora, Michael Wilson and Wesley Janak.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests Texas native perennials, trees or shrubs, or contributions to the funeral expenses.
