Elizabeth “Liz” Juarez Kahn, 64, beloved mother, sister, aunt, cousin and loved one went to be with Our Lord peaceably and surrounded by immediate family on Monday, May 1, 2023, af ter a long hospital stay in Round Rock.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 13, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.

Liz was born to Filomeno Juarez Sr. and Beatrice Reyes on June 12, 1958.

She was raised in Rockdale and graduated from Rockdale High School in 1977.

She worked as an in-house caregiver/direct support professional for adult group homes in Brenham for several years.

She then returned to school and attained a paralegal certification from Southern Career Institute.

She went onto work as a paralegal and office manager for approximately nine years for two law firms in Austin.

In 2001, she took a new job with Williamson County Sheriff’s Office as an administrative specialist in the warrants department, where she worked for 17 years.

Liz always said one of her greatest highlights in life was the birth of her son, Kamran Khan, and she supported him in every way possible, leading to him becoming the great young man he is today.

Liz loved to help others whenever she could and, like her mother, she loved to cook.

Other pastimes she enjoyed were reading, scrapbooking, true crime documentaries, and watching basketball.

Liz was preceded in death by her parents, Filomeno Juarez Sr. and Beatrice Reyes; a brother, Max D. Juarez; and a sister, Esperanza Hope Garza.

Liz is survive by her son, Kamran Khan of Round Rock; and a brother, Filomeno Juarez Jr. and his wife Shelley of Temple; also, numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

The family of Elizabeth Juarez Khan wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the doctors, nurses, and staff of Ascension Seton Williamson Hospital and Cornerstone Specialty Hospital Round Rock for all their care and efforts while Liz was in their care.
