Sam Wallace Jr., 77, of Rockdale passed away Saturday, May 13, 2023, at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 20, at Allen Chapel AME Church in Rockdale with Pastor Willie Phillips officiating. Burial services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, May 22, at Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen.

Visitation is set for 5 to 7 p.m. Friday May 19, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale.

Mr. Wallace was born March 18, 1946, in Waco to Sam and Mamie White Wallace Sr.

He served in the U.S. Army and worked for Alcoa for 35 years.

He married Linda McDowell on Sept. 8, 2001.

Survivors are his wife, Linda Wallace; their children, Tabatha Wallace, William Wallace, Christopher Wallace, Ladorren Wallace, Manuel Wallace, Myishen Wallace, Zeaonna Wallace, Simeon Wallace, LaiAiReian Wallace, Whitney Carlile, Byron Wallace and Brandon Wallace; and grandchildren Rakeem Wyatt Dailynn Romey and Jonathan Romey.
