James B. Stewart

James B. Stewart, 71, of Rockdale, formerly of Belton, died Oct. 3, 2023, in Round Rock.

Mr. Stewart was born June 1, 1952, in Temple to Cecil Taylor Stewart and Sarah Mearle Jenkins Stewart.

He was a graduate of Belton High School.

He met the love of his life, Mary Ortega, in Rockdale and the two were married on Aug. 24, 2003.

Mr. Stewart worked for American National Insurance for 23 years before retiring in 2013. He also worked for Walmart for 17 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil Taylor Stewart and Sarah Mearle Stewart; a brother, Kenneth Taylor Stewart; and a nephew, Joshua Taylor Stewart.

Survivors are his wife Mary Ellen Ortega Stewart of Rockdale; two daughters, Rose Mary Martinez of Rockda le, A lex is Marie Coldiron and husband Wesley Chance Coldiron of Milano; a brother, Mike L. Stewart and wife Shirleen Stewart of McGregor; a niece, Amy Stewart Maldonado and husband Marco of McGregor; and his grandchildren, Logan E. Samaniego, Addyson L. Samaniego, Sarah M. Coldiron, Seth Coldiron, Hannah J. Coldiron, Taylor Wilson-Walker, Hailey M. Wilson and Alex M. Wilson.
