Monica Michelle Jones
Monica Michelle Jones was born on Oct. 31, 1982, to Emmett and Gloria Aguirre, the second youngest of their five children.
She graduated from Milano High School in 2001 and later received a degree in history from Texas A&M University.
In 2002 she married her high school sweetheart, Nathan Jones, the same year they welcomed Mrs. Jones
their beautiful daughter Natalie into the world.
A devoted wife and beloved mother, Monica was a lively spirit, always beaming with a beautiful smile. The source of her joy, her family, was her greatest pride. Being a young mother was not always easy, but Monica’s exceptional maternal instinct was evident from the start. She considered the raising of her daughters to be her greatest accomplishment, and also extended her motherly devotion to her cherished nieces and nephews.
A die-hard Aggie, graduating from Texas A&M was Monica’s second great achievement. As a student of history, she recognized education’s importance in bettering one’s station. Monica was an avid proponent for the advancement of education in her community, offering both encouragement and coaching for aspiring young students. She was often seen assisting with student aid applications and advising on college entrance essays.
While Monica’s premature passing leaves many heartbroken, her legacy of joy and kindness will live on through all she touched.
Monica was preceded in death by her mother, Gloria Aguirre, and niece Melodie Jones.
She is survived by her husband, Nathan; daughters Natalie and Jesse; her brother, three sisters and 20 nieces and nephews.
The family encourages guests attending the celebration of life to wear maroon in honor of Monica, as “Maroon Out” was one of her favorite Aggie traditions. There will be an opportunity during the celebration of life for any friends and family to speak and share stories about Monica.
