Walter Joseph “Joe” Wallace Jr., 69, of Cameron died Monday, Feb. 12, 2024, at his home.

Ser v i c es were held Saturday, Feb. 17, at Marek-Bu r n s - L ay well Funeral Home in Cameron. Masonic graveside services followed at Oak Hill Cemetery in Cameron.

Joe Wallace, son of Walter Joseph and Bernice (Story) Wallace, was born Sept. 5, 1954 in Houston.

He married Debra Kay “Debbie” McDonald on June 8, 1974.

Joe worked for Alcoa for over 31 years before retiring.

He was a Master Mason with memberships in most of the Masonic lodges in Milam and Falls counties, where he had served in all of the individual lodge offices as well as District Deputy.

Survivors are his wife, Debbie Wallace of Cameron; two sons, Walter Joseph “Trey” Wallace III of Cameron, Andrew Seven Wallace and wife Alicia of Richmond; two daughters, Teri Raymond and husband Barry of Lexington, Amber Basonic and husband David of Cameron; a sister, Carol June Smith of Atlanta (Texas); and eight grandchildren, Walter J. Wallace IV, Hannah Raymond, Kaylee Wallace, Hailey Raymond, Maddie Basonic, Brynn Wallace, Abbie Jo Basonic and Emma Grace Wallace; also, several nieces and nephews.
