Dally
Mrs. Dally
THORNDALE—Vivian Dally, age 93, of Thorndale peacefully went to be with her Lord on Monday, March 11, 2024, at her home in San Gabriel, surrounded by her family.
She spent the majority of her life as a devoted homemaker who was incredibly talented when it came to cooking, baking, canning, sewing and gardening.
Raised during the Depression era, Vivian was keen on utilizing what she had and frugality was a well-practiced trait.
She thoroughly enjoyed time outdoors and found calmness and relaxation when outside. Her greatest joy was her family. A dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother were some of Vivian’s most treasured titles.
“Dee” is what she was affectionately called by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Vivian was a long time member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Thorndale, where she served as a Sunday school teacher for over 30 years and was a member of the Lutheran Quilter’s Group.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Dally; her parents, Nora and Boyd Catchings; and brother JB Catchings.
Survivors are her daughter, Jennifer Kieschnick and husband Larry of San Gabriel; her grandchildren, Larissa Ensor and husband Matt of San Gabriel, Kristen Sovil and her husband Bobby of Taylor; her great-grandchildren, Vivian Ensor and Dally Ensor; and her sister, Evelyn Muston of Edna; also, many nieces and nephews.
A graveside/burial service was to be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 20, at Detmold Cemetery with Pastor Scott Schaller from Trinity Lutheran Church officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church in Thorndale.
