Rachel Marie Anderson, 71, of Rockdale passed away on Monday, Dec. 9, 2024, in Temple.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, at Springfield Missiona ry Baptist Church in Rockdale. Burial will follow at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Rockdale.

Serving as pallbearers are Bobbie Joe Tindle, Billy Joe Tindle, Bradley Everage, Desmond Davis, Ezzard Everage and Daniel Moore.

Honorary pallbearers are Travis Everage, KeSean Raven, Byron Everage, Dedrick Page, Ber thrum Everage, Dimitri Moir, Petrocelli Russell, Albert (Pudgy) Burgess, Ervin Russell, Trevor Everage, Robert Owens, Chris Miles and Jederick Meyer.

Rachel was born on June 27, 1953, to Albert Augusta and Bertha Lee (Posey) Everage in Milam County.

She graduated from Rockdale High School.

On Feb. 27, 1990, she married Roosevelt Anderson in Cameron. They spent 24 years together until his death on June 20, 2014.

She loved being at home to take care of her son, as well as her nieces, nephews and other children in the neighborhood. The only thing she loved more than her family was God.

She was a lifelong member of Springfield Missionary Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir, assisted her nieces with the youth in the church, assisted her sister in the kitchen, and she sang a few solos.

Rachel loved her family and doing what she could for them, when she could. Her love was unconditional. She loved attending her great nieces/nephews sporting activities while cheering them on from the stands.

She enjoyed bingo, fishing, and her scratchers.

She will be remembered for loving kindness to everyone.

Rachel was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Bertha Everage; brothers Ezzard Charles Everage Sr., Julius Dayton Everage and Willie Eugene Everage; and one sister, Shirley Ann Everage.

Rachel is survived by her son, Jedrick Meyer; stepchildren Robert Everage, Evelyn Anderson, Frances Anderson and Carlos Anderson; sisters Tennie Tindle, Evelyn Burgess and Althea Everage; grandson Noah Allen; and a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, extended family and friends.
