MILANO—Virginia Lynn Bankston, 78, died Thursday, Nov. 12, 2020, at her home in Milano.

A graveside service was held Monday, Nov. 16, at Sand Grove Cemetery in Milano

Mrs. Bankston was born July 4, 1942, to Lloyd and

Helen Elizabeth (Jenkins) Brock in Houston.

She graduated from Reagan High School in Houston before going on to Abilene Christian College and earning her bachelor’s in elementary teaching.

Mrs. Bankston taught at Rockdale Elementary for 22 years and was a reading specialist.

She enjoyed reading, planting flowerbeds, attending church and spending time with family and friends.

Mrs. Bankston was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Helen Brock.

Survivors are her husband, John Bankston of Milano; her children, Kristi Bankston McCrary and husband Keith of Euless, Jan Bankston and boyfriend Silas Murch of Crested Butte, Colorado, David Bankston and wife Heather of Bryan; her grandchildren, Jillian Bankston, Callie Bankston, Bode Rutledge and Rob Rutledge; and a sister, Delores Allcorn of North Carolina.
