Biehle

Services for Robert Ray Biehle, 79, of Longview, formerly of Rockdale, were held Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2019, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home with Troy Bayne officiating. Burial followed at I.O.O.F. Cemetery.

Mr. Biehle died Saturday, Feb. 23, in a Longview hospital.

He was born Aug. 9, 1939, in Thorndale to Adolf and Sophia (Beran) Biehle and he was raised by Frances Biehle.

Mr. Biehle was a 1957 graduate of Thorndale High School.

On April 20, 1961, he married Gloria June Sanders in San Angelo.

They moved from San Angelo to Rockdale in 1966 and he began work at Alcoa in yard services and retired after 30 years.

After his retirement, Mr. Biehle worked selling automobiles at Taylor Ford and then Rock-dale Ford.

He was a longtime member of Rockdale Fair Association.

Mr. Biehle was also a horse trainer and a cattle and goat rancher.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Scott Baker; a brother, Johnny Biehle; a son-in-law, Glen Rummel; and his parents, Adolf Biehle and mothers Sophia Biehle and Frances Biehle.

Survivors are his wife, Gloria Biehle of Longview; three daughters, Denise Rummel of Gatesville, Petrice Rummel and husband Ronald of Longview, Janese Poe and husband Roy of Houston; a brother, Kenneth Biehle and wife Darlene of Thorn-dale; two sisters, Mary Towery and husband Glenn of Thorndale, Brenda Johnston and husband Thomas of Tyler; a sister-in-law, Linda Biehle of Thorndale; and seven grandchildren, Ryan, Kurt, Chelsey, Emilee, Alyssa, Brittany, and Cody; also, six great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Troy Biehle, Paul Johnson, Lee Pelzel, Tom Pelzel, Cody Baker, Richard Schneider, Jimmy Lee and Elbert Page.
