Darlene Biehle, 69, of Thorndale died Friday, Dec. 29, 2023, at her home in Thorndale.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 6, 2024, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Thorndale with Pastor Jeff Doria and Pastor Scott Schaller officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Retreat Cemetery in Thorndale.

Visitation will start at 10 a.m. Saturday at the church.

Darlene was born May 14, 1954, in Taylor to Rudolph and Erna Iselt Kroeger.

She was raised by her Christian parents and lived a farm life in the Detmold community. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Thorndale.

Darlene attended St Paul Lutheran School and graduated from Thorndale High School in 1972.

She married Kenneth Biehle on Dec. 22, 1972, at St. Paul Lutheran Church and they had two wonderful daughters.

She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church where she was actively involved in the LWML and a VBS volunteer and served on many committees throughout the years.

Prior to having children, she worked as a Teacher’s assistant in Taylor and Thorndale schools. She had a busy life as a business partner with her husband, Kenneth, owning and operating KB’s Greyhound Farm.

She loved meeting and doing business with people from all over the United States and from many types of professions. Many of which became good friends.

Darlene became a grandmother to four dearly loved grandchildren and loved to go on exploring adventures on the farm with them and spending time watching them play.

She loved gardening and sharing her garden with others and enjoyed family gatherings, cooking, visiting and watching the family grow and seeing their love for each other.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Rudolph and Erna Kroeger; sister Marilyn Sladek and her husband Gene; nephew Christopher Kroeger; and a sister-in-law, Joy Kroeger.

Darlene is survived by her husband of 51 years, Kenneth Biehle; daughters Holli Van West and husband Darrick, and Laci (Biehle) Hopper; grandchildren Grant Van West, Landon Van West, Collin Van West and Loreli Hopper; also her brothers, Garry Kroeger, Kelvin Kroeger and wife Pam, Eugene Kroeger and wife Robin.
