Dennis was a hurdler, setting the pace for his younger brothers. You would always see him on the sideline encouraging and rooting for his brothers, if not participating with them. His height, weight, speed, strength, coordination, leaping ability combined with a fierce tenacity, made him one of the best to ever play the position at Rockdale High. With his accomplishments, he was sought after by several college recruiters.

He attended Angelo State University, starting three seasons at the linebacker position. In the linebacker position, Dennis was ranked number 44 on the football draft list and was offered a contract to play in the CFL.

Dennis was a member of New Jerusalem Interdenominational Church. He had a servant heart, and enjoyed doing things for others. He was on the kitchen committee, he loved cooking, and could fry a mean batch of fish.

Dennis had a genuine love for animals, fishing, gardening and weight conditioning. Every spring he would plow the ground and plant greens, onions, okra, tomatoes, etc., but rarely did he eat them, he would say this is for you mama.

Dennis held many jobs over the years of his life. He was employed at Alcoa, Rockdale ISD, Manor ISD, Georgetown Post Office and Sho’ Nuff Soul Food Diner.

Dennis was living in Dean, for the past year and was employed with Sealed Air Corp. at the time of his passing.
