Carroll

Graveside services for Virginia Darnell Bartlett Carroll, 95, were held Monday, Jan. 21, 2019, at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Rockdale with Rev. Barry Methvin officiating.

Mrs. Carroll died Thursday, Jan. 17, at Legacy Nursing Home in Cameron.

She was born Sept. 13, 1923, in Cameron to Fred and Adele (Baird) Bartlett.

Mrs. Carroll attended San Gabriel High School and graduated from Rock-dale High School in 1940.

She married Paul O. Carroll in September 1945.

Mrs. Carroll was a homemaker and member of Apostolic Faith Church in Rock-dale.

She had lived in Houston and the area for many years, and returned to Rockdale where she lived the past 15 years.

Mrs. Carroll was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Carroll in 1993; two daughters, Mary Joy Carroll in 1950 and Carol Ann Sanders in 2008; two sisters, Betty Robbins in 1964 and Joy Hartman in 2010; her mother, Adele Bartlett Luckey in 1988; and her father, Fred Bartlett in 1972.

Survivors are three granddaughters, Shelley Boggan of Houston, Chrystina Ericson and husband Mitch of Tomball, Kimberly Wimsett and husband Todd of Boerne; five great-grandchildren, Anna Mingalone, Isabella Rossitter and husband Chad, Brenden Wimsett, Kendall Wimsett and Peyton Ericson; a brother, Jim Bartlett and wife Mary Jane of San Angelo; and a sister, Melba Ressel and husband Bob of Rockdale.

Pallbearers were Todd Ressel, Aaron Gifford, Landon Gifford, Robert Bartlett, Hunter Lehmann and Jess Meaders

Honorary pallbearers were Mark Bartlett, Brenden Wimsett, Kendal Wimsett, Nicholas Gifford and Austin Gifford.
