Charles Ray Smith

Charles Ray Smith, 84, died at his home in Gause on Tuesday, June 11, 2019.

Services were held at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rock-dale on Thursday, June 13. Burial was at Gause Family Cemetery.

Mr. Smith was born July 4, 1934, to J.A. and Mary Goldie (Gause) Smith.

He married Lou Ann Smith, on Feb. 9, 1957.

He grew up in Gause, and spent most of his adult life either working his cattle or devoting his technical skills to Gulf States Utilities, where he worked for 40 years.

Mr. Smith was an outdoors-man.

He was preceded in death by his parents, J.A. and Mary Smith; and two sisters, Norma J. Kerns and Peggy Ann Smith.

Survivors are his wife, Lou Ann Smith of Gause; his children, Steve Smith and wife Debbie of Flatonia, Cyndi Estill and husband Mike of Whitney; his grandchildren, Scott Estill and wife Mindy of Whitney, Adam Smith and wife Emily of Gause, Trista Bonner and husband Troy of Denton; and his great-grandchildren, Colby Estill, Cutter Smith, Keegan Estill, Col-ten Smith, Christian Smith and Bishop Bonner; also, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
