Weldon Noel Clark, 77, of Rockdale died Jan. 24, 2023.
A visitation will be held on from 6 to 8 p.m. W e d n e s day, Feb. 1, at Providence- Jones Family Funeral Home in Elgin.
A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 2, at Knobbs Springs Baptist Church in McDade. Interment will follow at Knobbs Springs Cemetery.
Mr. Clark was born Dec. 20, 1945, in Elgin to Wallace and Mary (Wolf) Clark.
He served his country in the U.S. Army as a cook.
He then went to work as a millwright. He stepped away from millwrighting to build race cars, but soon went back to it working for the Millwright Local 1421 based out of Arlington, from which he retired.
Mr. Clark continued to build race cars as his hobby throughout his life.
He was an excellent handyman who could fix anything. He would tear whatever is was apart, fix it, and put it back together in better shape than it originally was. His penchant for fixing things will be greatly missed.
Mr. Clark was preceded in death by his parents, Wallace and Mary Clark; a sister, Evelyn; and a daughter, Belinda.
Survivors are his wife of 37 years, Carolyn Diane (Chumley) Clark; two sons, Bill Clark (Lara) and Michael Schane (Teresa); and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Weldon’s honor to Knobbs Springs Baptist Church.
