Margie Marie Clark, 100, of Rockdale passed away on Thursday, Sept. 14, 2023, at Rockdale Estates in Rockdale.

A funeral service was held Monday, Sept. 18, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale with Pastor Patrick Welton officiating. Burial followed at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Rockdale.

Mrs. Clark was born on March 11, 1923, to Charlie A. and Erma Gertrude (Stork) Doss in Milam County.

She attended Rockdale High School.

On Dec. 21, 1944, she married the love of her life, Howe King Clark, in Cameron.

She worked at various places as a saleswoman, shop clerk, antique dealer and a sideline entrepreneur.

Mrs. Clark enjoyed taking care of everyone. She always looked after her neighbors and fellow residents at the nursing home.

She liked to tend to her yard and flowers, and play bingo.

She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved hosting family events, she made the best eggnog.

Mrs. Clark was a member of Peace Lutheran Church and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Howe King “Pete” Clark Sr.; a son, Howe King “Petie” Clark Jr.; adaughter- in-law, Patricia Clark; her parents, Charlie and Erma Doss; three sisters and a brother.

Survivors are a son, Ken Lee Clark of Rockdale; a daughter, Francis Ann Kyle and husband Dan of El Campo; her grandchildren, Lee Clark and wife Wendy, Travis Scott Clark and wife Katie, Clark William Kyle and wife Kara, James Daniel Kyle and wife Shae; her great-grandchildren, Savanna Smith and husband Richard, Kylie Clark, Emma Clark, Henry Clark, Lucy Clark, Owen Clark, Pete Clark, and Ben Clark; and her great-great-grandchildren, Skarlette Smith and Emberly Smith.

Pallbearers were Lee Clark, Travis Clark, Clark Kyle, James Kyle, Henry Clark, and Richard Smith.
