Coffield
Services for Tommy Coffield, 100, of Rockdale were held Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2019, at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Rockdale with burial in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
Mr. Coffield died Friday, Jan. 11, at his home.
He was born Oct. 25, 1918, in Cameron to Jule Folk and Allie (Wallis) Coffield.
He was raised in Rockdale and attended school in Rock-dale. He graduated from the University of Texas in Austin with an engineering degree.
Mr. Coffield was a petroleum engineer for Gulf Oil. With his job, he lived and worked in Crane, several places in Mississippi and Denver, Colorado.
He moved back to Rockdale in 1975 and enjoyed farming and ranching until he retired in 2016.
He married Wanda Jeanne Williamson on Nov. 23, 1938, in Dallas.
After the death of Mrs. Coffield, he married Mary “Peggy” Allison on June 26, 1998, in Rockdale.
Mr. Coffield was a member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church.
He was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Navy Reserve during World War II and was discharged as a captain.
Mr. Coffield was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Jeanne Coffield, and his parents.
Survivors are his wife, Mary A. “Peggy” Coffield of Round Rock; three sons, Thomas R. Coffield IV and wife Mary Jo of Rockdale, King Scott Coffield and wife Jamie of Temple, Christopher H. Coffield of Broomfield, Colorado; his grandchildren, Thomas R. Coffield V and wife Kerri, Christian Hunt Coffield, Brian Coffield and wife April Gillian, Kate Coffield and husband Max Martinez, Christopher Hunter Gould Coffield and wife Nicole Haw, and Sarah Kathryn Coffield; and his great-grandchildren, Soren Kingston Coffield, Atticus Jackson Coffield, Lily Coffield, Aidan Gillian and Connor Gillian.
Pallbearers were Thomas R. Coffield V, Christian Hunt Coffield, Brian Coffield, Christopher Hunter Gould Coffield, James Perry, Danny Perry and Max Martinez.
